Question: How many times did Grant change his name and what were the names he changed? Why did he change his birth given name?

    Grant changed his name a total of three times. He was born Hiram Ulysses Grant. He hated that name because his enitials where H.U.G. He changed his name to Ulysses Hiram Grant, but then he changed it again later to Ulysses Simpson Grant.

    I believe he changed his names three times. He changed it first to Ulysses Hiram Grant but then changed once again to Ulysses Simpson Grant He changed his name the first time because he did not want the initials H.U.G.

    he changed it to Ulysses Hiram Grant and, Ulysses Simpson Grant because the initials spelt hug. Ths makes a total of three times he changed his name.
